In my series of works called “30mg” I am interested in talking about the use of Adderall in today’s society and how I’ve had a personal relationship with it. I have chosen to show the time frame of a 4 year period from when I was first prescribed Adderall. I want the viewer to gain a perspective of how long I have been taking this drug by showing the multiples of one form. I’ve chosen to work with a variation of materials which include capsules, drug baggies, plexiglass, and enamel paint.

Usually when people take this drug they are changing who they are as a person, enabling them to fit into society. Adderall is prescribed to people who think differently and by having them take this drug they are subscribing to act a certain way. Society offers people a pre-existing structure that limits the opportunities for success of people who don’t conform to these rules. Since these people don’t fit into this pre-existing structure, they are influenced to take Adderall.
